The Embassy Cinema is situated in the centre of Ilfracombe High Street, opposite the Market Arches and next to the NatWest Bank. The best Car Parks to use in Ilfracombe are the Landmark Theatre and High Street Car Parks. If you use the Landmark Theatre Car Park, you need to walk up the hill opposite the Theatre, through the Market Arches and we are on the other side of the High Street. Most of the High Street car parks are within a 5-10 minute walk to the Cinema. If visiting us in the evening, (after 6pm) all High Street parking is unrestricted.
The Embassy cinema is a three floor cinema.
Wheelchair Access - The Embassy Cinema in Ilfracombe has access problems owing to the age of the construction of the building and the fact that it is located on a steep hill. The entrance is at the top of a short staircase. The auditoria are located up further stair cases on the second an third floors. Please contact the cinema's box office during normal opening hours for more details about access on 01271 862323.
Disabled Toilets - There are disabled toilet facilities off the main foyer though, be advised, the auditoria are on the second floor.
Subtitled Performances - We run captioned performances whenever possible on both weekend and weekday screenings. Check the website or call the cinema directly.
Relaxed/Autism Friendly Screenings - Relaxed/Autism friendly screenings are subtly-adapted screenings which create an environment that is welcoming for people with a range of conditions such as autism, learning disabilities and cognitive disorders. They have sound levels turned down, the lights left on at a low level and there are no trailers or adverts at the beginning of the film. Film-goers are able to make noise and to sit where they feel most comfortable. These screenings are usually the first Sunday in the month and often the first show of the day to avoid crowds. CEA Carer Card - Merlin Cinemas participate with the CEA card which is a national concessionary card developed by the UKCA for UK cinemas. This allows people with disabilities to obtain one free ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema. The aim of the CEA Card is to provide a consistent voluntary approach to the provision of complimentary tickets for people with disabilities. To find out more at the CEA Card website click here. CEA Cards are accepted for films on general release, some restrictions may apply on private screenings.
